These two etchings depict Swiss/German scenes. One Oberhofen Castle Lake Thund and one Near Sion, Valley of the Rhone. They are hand coloured I believe and were both exhibited at the RWA (Royal West of England Academy) in their 1926/27 exhibition. Both are signed by the artist in pencil and have their original exhibition tags on the back. The etchings are ~4 1/4 by 5 3/4 in what I assume are original frames with some bowing and swelling to the back and a few marks and chips on the frames. They may benefit from reframing but heck they’ve lasted 100 years I don’t want to open them up! Not much is known about Reginald Barker though what *Is* known is primarily Swiss hand coloured etchings of which these are lovely examples. They’ve been together for a century so I don’t want to split them up.
